In case you haven’t watched SportsCenter, listened to Rome, or opened a damn newspaper, there was a killer NHL Hockey Brawl last night between the Buffalo Sabers and the Ottawa Senators. We here in Buffalo take hockey pretty seriously, and so does our team. Last night’s blindside cheap shot on Chris Drury spurred a Hockey Brawl that even had the Goalies involved. Marty Biron did get the snot slapped out of him, but Andrew Peters made up for it. Hockey brawls are this week’s topic, and we bring you the biggest and best team brawls from YouTube!
5. Atlanta Thrashers vs Washington Capitals
Five fights in the last thirty seconds, a bloody nose, and a flury of fists lands this in the top five hockey brawls.
4. Buffalo Sabers vs. Ottawa Senators
Freshest hockey brawl to date! Sure some of the Sabres to get stomped, but Andrew Peters beats the bejesus out of Emery, and smashes a few other skulls along the way
3. Ottawa Senators vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Possibly the best NHL brawl ever, including Goalie on Goalie action, body slams, wrestling, and plenty of pummeling and pounding.
2. AHL Hockey Brawl - Superman
Pretty solid full team brawl, until the goalie does a full superman jump on top of the pile. He really looks like he was shot from a cannon, and goes so far over that he can’t do any damage.
1. USSR vs Canada Jr. Hockey Brawl
This full team fight was totally unstoppable. Literally. They really had to shut the lights off to get the player to stop spraying fury on each other. The refs had absolutely no control over, both benches cleared, the fighting was so gnarly even the cameras had a hard time keeping the feed. Well deserved number 1!
